Application Guidelines

Information Technology Program (ITP) is a summer program that combines academic education and business projects into an intensive experience. The purpose is to provide students with a strong applied understanding of information technologies and the digital world. The program provides necessary concepts and approaches that enable students with diverse backgrounds to operate effectively in the global business environment. The program consists of three simultaneous tracks with different areas of concentration. Students can participate in one of the tracks during the summer.

Application process:

The application period is open during January 7th — April 5th, 2019. The application is closed at 4 PM on the 5th of April, 2019. The link to the online application form can be found on this website during the application period. Only applications that are sent via the application form within the given period are assessed. The students are admitted to the program within three selection periods.

  • The selection of the student admissions for applications received by January 31, 2019 will be given no later than February 7, 2019. Admitted students can confirm their participation to the program until February 21, 2019.

  • The selection of the student admissions for applications received during February 1-28, 2019 will be given no later than March 7, 2019. Admitted students can confirm their participation to the program until March 21, 2019.

  • The selection of the student admissions for applications received during March 1 – April 5, 2019 will be given no later than April 12, 2019. Admitted students can confirm their participation to the program until April 26, 2019.

Applicant group 1

Aalto University degree students, students applying under the JOO agreement, and exchange students from School of Business partner universities can apply according to these instructions.

Student selection to the program will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Previous studies (including grades and efficiency + level of studies BSc/MSc) 40%

  2. Motivation (analysis of team working skills and motivation in video format) 40%

  3. Work experience (CV and LinkedIn profile) 20%

All non-Aalto University students must have written permission from their own university (either electronic JOO agreement permission or permission to participate as an exchange student).

Please note

ITP is free of charge for tuition waiver students, who are students from Aalto University, students from Finnish universities under the JOO agreement and students from Aalto University School of Business partner institutions under a current exchange agreement. Aalto School of Business does not provide any scholarships or other financial aid for ITP studies. ITP will help students from other universities with finding accommodation, if needed. However, the student pays the cost of the accommodation. Applicants must have at least 60 ECTS of the BSc degree completed when applying to the program.

Applicant group 2

Executives, PhD students from other universities, students from other foreign universities, and students from universities of applied sciences (AMK) can apply according to these instructions.

Student selection to the program will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Work experience (CV and LinkedIn profile) 40%

  2. Motivation (analysis of team working skills and motivation in video format) 40%

  3. Previous studies (including grades and efficiency + level of completed studies) 20%

Please note:

The tuition fee is 2900€. Aalto School of Business does not provide any scholarships or other financial aid for ITP studies. ITP will help students from abroad with finding accommodation, if needed. However, the student pays the cost of the accommodation, living and travels. Tuition fee covers the expenses of teaching and learning during the program. It does not cover the commuting to business project meetings or to possible company excursions.
